Course Description
Course Objective: You will administer and maintain a multi-user website using Adobe
Contribute CS4.
Target Student: Contribute is primarily used by non-programmers as it employs an
intuitive What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) development environment,
which allows those with little or no programming experience to keep websites
and blogs edited and updated with content.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Windows operating system, Microsoft
Internet Explorer, and basic computing terminology.
Hardware Requirements
- Intel® Pentium® 4, Intel Centrino®, Intel Xeon®,
or Intel Core™ Duo (or comparable) processor
- A minimum of 512 MB of RAM
- 1 GB of available hard-disk space
- A 1024 x 768 resolution monitor with 16-bit video card
- A DVD-ROM drive
- A mouse or other pointing device
- Internet access (contact your local network administrator)
Software Requirements
Each computer requires the following software:
- Adobe® Contribute® CS4
- Macromedia Contribute Publishing Server 1.1
- Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.1 or later
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7.0 or later
- Microsoft® Word 2003,2007 or later
- Adobe Flash Player 10.2 Installer
- Adobe Acrobat 9
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- identify the elements in the Adobe Contribute CS4 workspace
and the connection protocols used to connect with a website.
- establish a connection to a website.
- integrate content from Microsoft Office documents and
web browsers into Contribute.
- administer new page settings, template options, and style
settings.
- manage existing users and define new user roles.
- access and enable the Contribute Publishing Server (CPS),
define users, and perform a review workflow.
- create shared site assets and set accessibility options.
- deploy Contribute sites and perform administrative tasks.
