Setup instructions for every class

Every time you teach this course, you will need to perform the following steps:

1     Prepare uniform-sized (8.5×11, for example) cards, each with one letter from a word written on it. There should be one card for each student in class. For example, four cards with “T”, “E”, “A”, and “M” of the word “Team.” Other word possibilities are “cooperation,” “communication,” “goal,” and “efficiency.” Keep the cards in a box labeled “Human Scrabble.” This is necessary for one of the exercises in the Understanding team fundamentals unit.

2     Print one copy of Diagram.doc (from the Unit_02 folder).

3     Print two copies of communication.doc (from the Unit_03 folder). Keep one for yourself. From the other, cut out strips containing the statements and the ways in which they should be meshed with nonverbal cues. Do not include the instructor notes. Keep the slips of paper in a box labeled “Communication.”

4     Print one copy each of Ninedots.doc and Ninedots_solution.doc (from the Unit_06 folder). If you would rather hand out the document than copy the pattern onto the whiteboard, print copies of Ninedots.doc for each student.
